I founded Bokanaa Mothers & Kids Foundation shortly after starting my company in 2010, out of a deep love for my community and a desire to give back to the people and place that shaped me.

Mariama Samateh
Honoring the beautiful memory of Mariama Samateh, former Marketing Director of Bokanaa for Mothers and Kids Foundation. Mariama was more than a member of the Bokanaa family. Through her work, her ideas and her commitment, Mariama helped give a voice to Bokanaa’s mission which she very much believed in and helped bring our work closer to the hearts of the people we serve. Although she is no longer with us, her contributions remain woven into the foundation she helped build. Her presence may be missed but her impact will continue to live on through every woman empowered, every child supported and every community touched by Bokanaa.
Her work was meaningful, her presence was a blessing and her legacy will never be forgotten.
